Stretch forming is a metal forming process in which a piece of sheet metal is stretched and bent simultaneously over a die in order to form large contoured parts. Stretch forming is performed on a stretch forming machine, in which a piece of sheet metal is securely gripped along its edges by gripping jaws. The gripping jaws are each attached to a carriage that is pulled and rotated by hydraulic force to stretch the sheet. The tooling used in this process is a stretch form block, called a form die, which is a solid contoured piece against which the sheet metal will be pressed. The most common stretch presses are oriented vertically, in which the form die rests on a die platform that can be raised into the sheet by a hydraulic cylinder. As the form die is driven into the sheet, which is gripped tightly at its edges, the tensile forces increase and the sheet plastically deforms into a new shape.
Stretch Forming is a manufacturing process in which sheet, extrusions, or formed profiles are wrapped around dies to make parts into simple or complex contoured curves. The process always involves stretching, forming, or both actions.
SVSHPL has developed and built its own software platform for today’s complex SCADA Control Systems, specifically for stretch forming presses. In the most complex press designs, axes of motions are controlled very precisely with the SCADA control system.
The aerospace industry utilizes these very accurate and repeatable stretch forming presses to manufacture very important fuselage skins for commercial and business aircraft, as well as the curved profiles that comprise the aircraft’s sub-structure or frame. The following pages in our Website will describe further details of these custom stretch forming presses. SVSHPL can create value for your company by providing innovative metal forming equipment that produce excellent quality parts, using sophisticated technology.
We (SVS Hydraulics pvt.ltd.) Introduce ourselves as a leading manufacturer of STRETCH FORMING MACHINE Hydraulic Cylinders Power Packs, Pultrusion Machines, Pultrusion Dies, Rebar Pultrusion Machines, Mobile Hoarding Vehicles, Material Handling Equipments, etc–Ours is an ISO 9001-2008 Certified Company. We have a full fledged manufacturing facilities at our works situated at Jeedimetla, Hyderabad, T.S. India.
We are supported by a team of qualified and experienced Engineers who have wide exposure in handling a variety of equipments, designing and manufacturing of Automation systems based on Hydraulics and Pneumatics. Based on our vast exposure to different kind of equipments, we can offer customized solution for any kind of Hydraulic, Pneumatic and Material handling problems.
The SVSHPL designs and builds a variety of special hydraulic presses to meet unique stretch forming requirements. Our stretch forming machine have been provided in aerospace part-making applications for leading commercial air plane makers, as well as the private aircraft builders.
After-market support service is of vital importance to our customers. We fully support all of our metal forming systems on a global basis, in a timely manner, with a competent technical staff. Our customers recognize the SVSHPL as the world leader in light metals stretch forming technology. Military aircraft have special metal forming needs sometimes quite different from commercial applications. The SVSHPL is highly regarded by all military repair facilities, in addition to the builders of military aircraft.
Recent research and development efforts have resulted in a new, easy to use machine control system, new machine kinematics, advanced software offerings that facilitate die design and process control based upon the customer’s material and shape requirements. Quick change jaw bodies and die table systems, along with simulation software, significantly reduces part program development time. All of our research and development activity is based on customer input; therefore, we address the real manufacturing needs of our customers, creating value by continual improvement of their productivity and part-making quality.
SVSHPL strives to help and develop processes and designs to keep the composite industry moving forward. SVSHPL feels that by training and delivering the best machinery on the market, we can help grow the composite industry worldwide. If we cannot help with our years of knowledge in this industry, we can certainly send a customer in the right direction. We do not try to sell machinery or services to every customer. We try to help evaluate production requirements and investment payoffs.
WE CAN’T SPELL SUCCESS WITHOUT YOU
The sheet sample which has to be formed, is clamped between two gripping jaws located on opposite ends, the forming die is fixed on to a die platform which can be moved hydraulically in a vertical direction. The forces necessary for the forming are transferred through the form die to the sheet sample.
SVSHPL offers a diverse selection of versatile sheet stretch forming presses, with a variety of options. our machine designs are available in custom configurations with tonnage ratings from 160 to 3000 tons. Our presses are custom engineered to meet specific requirements with regard to jaw width, distance between jaws, strokes, forming tonnage, and valuable options.
The options most commonly requested on presses manufactured today are: traversing gantry bulldozer, auxiliary die tables, auxiliary extrusion jaws, auxiliary curving jaws (for very tight radius fuselage sheets), SCADA programmable curving jaws, Edge Compensation System, and
The SCADA programmable curving jaws eliminate the long, tedious, manual setup that has been the past industry standard on sheet jaws. There is no longer a need for the operator to have to physically adjust the manually locked adjusting screws on each curving arm of the jaw assemblies. The operator programs the desired radius from the operator console and the jaws automatically curve to the selected curvature.
